That’s what people do at a bachelor or bachelorette party, ideally

I never was one for excessive drinking, strippers or wild parties when truly single for all those years. Friends in 3 separate locations had given showers. My bridal party was states away. I heard some old school friends and a couple of army friends were sure I would like a Bach of clubbing. I declined the offer, said, friends have given me enough parties. I did not throw a bachelorette, because there were friends leaving the area going to miss the wedding whom I wanted to include. So I hosted a women's weekend for folks within an hour drive. Summer use of basically a ski resort motel and condo pods for groups, on a lake. Since no presents were involved, and I paid for rooms ,groceries, waterfront fees, theatre tickets one night and a James Taylor concert another, we cooked, went out in canoes, hug it , played cards, things more like my general enjoyed activities. Since we did not have an engagement dinner, or rehearsal and dinner, or do lots of small gifts ( 1 large one for WP each) it seemed within budget of what we set aside to pay for the wedding.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do for my own, but I just got done hosting my best friends. We started the day with brunch then all the girls met at the hotel to get ready. We had dinner; attended a Painting with the Twist class; and went to a hookah bar where we drank, listened to live music, played drinking games and talked. It was a ton of fun and the group still talks about it. We tried to make the most of a COViD bachelorette while social distancing and following health guidelines. Then literally the night before the wedding, the bride and I (MOH) stayed in a hotel. We went out to dinner, drank a few drinks at a local bar, and went to sleep early. The morning of her wedding we had a facial and massage before her big day began! She wanted to not see or talk to her fiancé until they said I do and we achieved that. Her first words to her fiancé on their wedding day was her vows!

By having a good time but not doing any of the things that would upset you if she did them? None of the things some of your friends insist " everyone" does? Sometimes you have to start by saying no to your friends.

You aren’t supposed to throw your own bachelor party. Your guys friends are supposed to.
You guys can go and hang out and have a good time. It doesn’t have to be anything wild, like “The Hangover.”
My best friend’s now husband went out and played pool and darts and drank heavily for his bachelor party. It’s more about having a good time out with your guys than anything else.
