How to cancel a florist??

Stefanie, on February 18, 2020 at 7:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
I’ve already put a deposit on a florist, $25, and I just realized that it’s out of my budget so I want to go florist “shopping” again to see if I can get it lowered (if I can’t get it lowered, then I’ll go with the florist that I made the deposit on). If I find a florist that can do my flowers for my budget, what do I say to the florist that I’ve already booked??
Thanks so much!!! My wedding is June 27, 2020 btw!!

Just tell the florist you had to scale back due to budgeting. If you are worried they will be hurt, you can tell them some other item cost more than expected and you are looking for ways to save, but most vendors understand budget constraints. You should check the cancellation policy in case there is a certain date by which you need to notify the florist of your decision.

Ask if she can fit within your budget. My florest said her typical wedding is 2k. I said my budget is $500 but I'm assembling my own centerpieces and I dont want crazy big bouquets. She picked flowers that work within my budget and I couldn't be happier.

If not you might lose $25 but just explain the situation and pick someone else

If you signed a contract, check and see what it says about cancellation. It's possible you could be on the hook for the whole contract amount. If that's not the case, then once you've secured another vendor just let them know that it was a pleasure working with them, but due to budget constraints you've decided to go with another vendor.
