Call them. Super vintage early 2000s style.

When and why did asking people to be in one's wedding become a huge big thing?

Brides obsess over proposal boxes; moms obsess over lunch bento boxes. Just stop and spend your energy communicating with people.

If it's fun for people receiving them and it's fun for people giving them, where is the harm?

Ushers are usually guys and most really don't care about getting a "proposal" box. Just call them.

Ushers are weird. You're significant enough for a job but not to be a groomsman.

My fiancé asked ours while we were at happy hour. I nudged him and said "make sure you bring up the usher thing" and a little while later he asked. No big deal. Guys don't care.

We asked a couple (as in, two people who are dating) to be our ushers. They're mutual friends with almost all of our friends from college, so they would have provided familiar faces and a little extra romance. (I say "would have" because their car got stuck on a hill on the day of the wedding, and unfortunately they didn't arrive until the ceremony was over. Another friend--female--stepped in and ushered.)

I asked my two guy cousin (they are married to each other). they loved the proposal boxes i created for the groomsmen (which also loved the proposal boxes) . IIn the I put a little note to let them know how important it is to have them be included in our special day.. Its all about the gesture to me.
