So I'm going to two weddings this year. One is next month and the other is in October. Even before I joined WW I always thought cash bars are tacky AF. That being said, others don't feel this way. So I'm going to two weddings this year. One is next month and the other is in October. Even before I joined WW I always thought cash bars are tacky AF. That being said, others don't feel this way. My two friends that are getting married have a tight budget. They all told me they had to cut the guest list and not to expect a fu-fu wedding. So, I REALLY want to ask them if they are having a cash bar or not. Is that rude? I really only want to ask because the last wedding i went to my FH and i only had $25 on us and we only got 2 drinks....and left at like 10pm because of it.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

    Just bring cash.

@JessieJV, it sounds a lot like keeping score. Just as I wouldn't want a guest to decline because they couldn't afford a gift that at least equates to the cost of their meal (heard that 'rule' before), I wouldn't mind slapping down a couple $20s to cover drinks for us as guests either. I attend weddings of close family/friends that I WANT to be there to share the couple's day.
