How to announce "ranch" attire?

Mandi, on October 4, 2018 at 12:39 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

The wedding itself is on a ranch and the whole wedding party will be wearing boots. There is a short walk from the ceremony to the reception barn that is unpaved. I want to put something on our invites that indicates we are not only casual, but welcome our guests to be comfortable and dress for the venue. Boots and jeans or sundresses are welcome. FH has the idea of making it a bit of a silly phrase "It's on a ranch, dress like it!" or "Casual attire welcome, ranch attire encouraged!" It seemed like a good idea but now that I'm drafting invites, it seems to not fit quite right. Is there a better way to phrase this?

You could definitely put in the silly phrase in bigger letters but below it I would mention the boots jeans and sundresses thing.

That's a really good idea. I just drafted it and it looks much more natural on the invite Smiley smile

My sister got married on our dad’s ranch in June and same thing the bridal party all had boots on so on her wedding website for dress code or attire she put “jeans + cocktail attire cowboy boots if desired” so something along those lines could work or maybe “cowboy boots welcomed and encouraged”

Hi Mandi! Your wedding sounds awesome, I've always wanted to go to one on a ranch! Are you incorporating the western theme into the decor? Agreeing with the above comment, I think it would be fun to put something funny in bigger letters then below maybe specify jeans, sundresses and boots!

You could say "don't forget to wear your cowboy boots!"
