How to advise guests of no parking?

Luce, on February 9, 2019 at 4:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

We are having a really small wedding (less than 10 guests) but unfortunately our venue doesn't offer any parking, other than for our vendors.

We haven't arranged transport for our guests as almost half of those attending are in our wedding party and the other few are all staying in different surrounding areas so we are looking for recommendations for how to advise our guests that there is no parking at/around our venue?

We haven't yet sent out or invites so we want to include this info to give everyone enough time to plan/speak to us about transport etc.

Thanks in advance Smiley smile

If it’s 10 people could you reach out everyone individually and let them know there’s no parking? You could include local taxi information on your website or details card. Have you looked into Uber events? I haven’t used it but you can basically pay for your guests Ubers day/night of the wedding.

I would do an enclosure if it wont fit on invitation

or did you mean wording wise?

I didn’t know Uber events was a thing but that sounds like a great idea. I’ll definitely have a look into it.

That’s what I was thinking but I’m stuck for wording as well.

I had heard that but I couldn’t see that stated anywhere on their website or anything. Looks like Lyft does events too.

This! With that few amount of guests it would be fine to just contact them directly. Then you know they didn't miss the info anywhere.

I think i would go simple

Also, please note that parking will not be available at the venue so we suggest parking at x address as it is the closest lot to our venue location.

For my wedding, the majority of my church parking lot will be unavailable but surrounding street parking is free so I'm putting it on a FAQ on my wedding website. With a wedding your size, I would think word of mouth would be sufficient.

Thanks for the suggestions Smiley smile we may stick to notifying our guests individually that way we can help them with arranging transport etc.
