How soon should we take engagement pictures?

It's fine to take them anytime. If you're planning to use one for save the dates, give yourself a couple of months ahead of time, to make sure your photographer can edit them and get them back to you in plenty of time.

Hey date twin! We just did our engagement photos last week, it will take between 6-8 weeks to get them back and we are planning on sending STDs out a little sooner due to the wedding being a holiday weekend so the timeline will work out perfectly for that.

Take them whenever you want. My wedding is that same day, and we are taking ours next week (also plan on using one for STDs). I didn't want to wait too long because June, July, August, and September can be super hot.
