How soon is to soon to get price quotes?

Alysha, on February 26, 2020 at 6:14 PM Posted in Planning 1 20
Hey guys,
I’m getting married July 30th 2021 and have my venue, but nothing else. All my friends and family are saying it to soon to start getting prices quotes on other venders. When did you start? Should I wait a while longer? Thanks! Smiley smile

I don’t think that’s too soon ! Especially some people like dj and photographer might be popular or might be able to give you a rate for this year because some people raise rates

Honestly vendors book up so fast. I got a lot of advice from people that had no idea or booked weddings years ago when things were less crazy?

I think you're at a good time frame right now to start

I think now is a good time - vendors book much quicker than you think!

I agree that you should start looking now. Most vendors can book up to a year in advance so it would be good to start researching now. I found a lot of my vendors on the WW app so I would say definitely go through and save the ones you are interested in and make notes on each one. I liked to note what the vendor included and their pricing just so it was easy to keep track of everything because trust me it can start to get confusing when you contacting multiple vendors.

My wedding is September 2021 and I already have the venue and catering locked down. We’ll be signing a contract with a photographer in the next few weeks, and I already have my dress (got it for an amazing deal at a bridal boutique around Black Friday / Christmas). I’d say it’s definitely not too early! A lot of vendors will raise prices for 2021, but if you book now you can lock in the 2020 prices

My wedding is in November 2021 and I booked all of my vendors already. Up here the vendors book FAST so you have to jump on the ones you want or you don’t get them. It’s definitely not too early, I was told that people really start booking at the year to a year and half mark, and I wanted to ensure I had who I wanted so I was way ahead of the game.

We’re getting married May 2021 and have all the contract signed for all vendors. Locked in this years pricing and all the top vendors we wanted. I would star now since a lot of people got engaged during the holidays/valentines day season.

I don’t that’s too soon at all! I booked my venue 11 months in advance and I’m glad I did because their prices went up in 2020 but I am locked into their cheaper prices but get the same benefits. Also I almost missed out on my photographer had I not asked as soon as I did. Go for it!

We had our venue, caterer, and photographers booked 22 months out. I’m a huge proponent of booking early, if you can! It gives you more time to save and can often lock in cheaper rates (2020 vs 2021).

Getting married in July of next year too! I have all vendors except photo/video, because it came with my venue! I was originally going to get married on your date (our dating anniversary 😊), but decided to change it to a Saturday in July instead.

You can start now! You are coming up on 1 year out, and a lot of vendors book up well in advance! Also, you typically get better pricing the further out you book.

I started booking things right after I got engaged, almost 18 months out! We had our venue booked and I went dress shopping right away. It helped us spread out expenses nicely (with deposits and such) and save a LOT of money in that time because we knew how much everything was going to cost in advance. I would suggest at least getting quotes and pricing things out, and the extra time is a nice buffer.

Um your family is incorrect? I am getting married July 10, 2021 and when we first got engaged June 8, 2019. I started looking at venues in the fall 2019 and things were already booked. The whole point of us waiting 2 years is to gather quotes and to figure out what we want and saving for it. How is it to early to get quotes to save money and figure out what you want? So far ive booked venue, planner, decorator, photobooth, Dj. I am currently working on cater. Good luck and things are booking! I recommend you start today!

I think for major vendors like venue, photographer, coordinator, you can get quotes now.

May 2021, and I started getting quotes in October. I am finally getting around to booking now have my DJ and Photographer already done. The sooner you book the more time you have to save. Also you know how much $$ you have to save for.

Vendors book out FAR in advance, especially for summer weddings. Don't let anyone stop you from vetting & booking vendors now if you know what you want.

It's never too early! Our date is May 2021 and we have venue, caterer, and photographer. All have said that their 2021 brides are coming in quickly and they are booking up fast. Even if places don't book up that fast where you live, it's a good idea to get pricing and find out how much you want to save.
