How simple is too simple for a dress?

Hello all! I have been looking for a wedding dress for a long time, and after trying on many, i have come to the conclusion that I just dont like "wedding dresses." They look pretty in pictures and on other people, but on me, it just feels silly. Like I'm trying too hard.

A little background info: I never dreamed of a big wedding or having a princess day. I honestly wanted to elope to napa valley, but our families wouldn't hear a word of it.
We are having an afternoon ceremony in our backyard in September. the weather is usually 80-85 here at that time, so I really don't want anything heavy and uncomfortable. The wedding decor is going to be simple but elegant, somewhat minimalistic.

PLEASE excuse the lack of hair and makeup. I ordered this dress online, and I had just got out of the shower and was very eager to try it.

I actually like it. Its simple but beautiful. it's flattering. If you wanted to dress down it can be casual, if you wanted to dress up you can add a belt.

I think it’s beautiful! The style is so good on you.

When it comes to YOUR dress and YOUR big day, it’s about how YOU feel! If you want something simple, then go for simple. There’s no such thing as “too ___”! It’s your day, you can wear whatever you want— traditional, simple, off the beaten path, vintage, colorful, whatever!

I agree with others, there's no such thing as it being too simple as long as you feel like yourself. I also don't like regular wedding dresses. I think my exact quote during bridal shopping was it felt like: "a doily, suit of armor, or cat toy... sometimes all three at once!"

I wear a 32DDD and I honestly think our busts are too big for sleeveless dresses.

However, I don’t see anything wrong with the dress as far as being too simple. I’m with you, wedding gowns aren’t my thing.

The dress is very flattering on you! your wedding should be however you want it to be! the dress looks pretty and comfortable so who cares thats its not a "wedding dress". looks perfect for a backyard wedding.

I love it! I think it’s perfectly bridal enough. Very light & airy. Comfortable for a backyard wedding. You can wear unique jewelry like you have on, or add a sparkle belt and earrings for a more bridal look if you wish. Very versatile.
