How old is too old to be a bridesmaid?

Kathleen, on September 4, 2017 at 10:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

I am a 28 year old bride with a lot of older friends. Two that I'm close with are in their late 40's. Can I ask them, with complete sincerity, to be a bridesmaid? Both feel like they're a mentor than a friend, but I think of them as a friend with awesome life advice. Any suggestions?

I don't think there is an age limit. I would ask who you want by your side.

How old is too old to be a BM? The answer is, when the last make-up artist that worked on them is employed by the local funeral home -- and only the local funeral home (if you get my meaning).

Of course you can ask anyone of any age to be a BM.

I had a bridesmaid that was older. Her daughter was also a bridesmaid. They loved it and I love them both. No one thought twice of it

My sister will be 50 in January and was my matron of honor. Didn't give her age a thought when I asked her her!

No one has to be in a specific age group to be in your wedding.

Are the older women in your life special to you? Do you want them to stand with you and your SO on your big day?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, put them in your bridal party.

Age doesn't matter I thought this was an issue for me and I took a long thought about the person that was older and what she meant to me and my FH and I couldn't imagine not asking her to be apart of our day.

There is no age for that. I believe its a privigle to pick someone to be MOH / BM as the most important people you want close to you, No matter the age.

There isn't an age. My FMIL is late 40's and she's been a MOH twice in the last three years
