How much were your bridesmaids dresses?

Richaelyn, on May 1, 2021 at 11:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
How much are you making your bridesmaids pay for their dresses? I tried the online affordable route (about $100), I let my girls get their dresses off of BirdyGrey.com and after seeing the dress in person, we are looking for something else. I’m thinking maybe I need to make them spend a little more to get something that looks better and of quality.

Wow surprised you didn’t like Birdy Grey. That’s where my bridesmaids ordered from and they looked wonderful

My bridesmaid dress was the sage color from Birdy grey and I paid for my bridesmaids dress. If you want your bridesmaid go pay for their own dress just make sure they can afford it. Just something to think about.

Have a private conversation with each of them about budget. The price shouldn’t matter as long as they’re all comfortable spending more money. But it should be “affordable” (meaning in their price range) for everyone. There are some beautiful dresses from David’s Bridal for under $150 and from Azazie for under $200

My bridesmaids all got the same dress off of FashionNova for $30 each. The dress was the only thing I would buy it for them to have that look the same and they all agreed on a dress from that website. I did have them order a size up from what they normally wear. Luckily I did that because everyone tried on their dress and it got to them and it fit perfectly.

My bridesmaid dress were about $80 on sale from David's Bridal. My color was mint green. All of them had the same dress except my moh. Her dress was the same color and style but it was made a little different in the top.

Oops! Should mention the dresses they picked ranged from $89-$120. I let them choose their own, so they could decide what style and price point worked for them!

My girls spent between $125 and $150 on their bridesmaids dresses from Dessy. We found the quality to be fantastic!

My bridal party is in mismatched colors all from David's Bridal. I let them pick the style so they could pick the cost they were comfortable with.

Ours were under $120 from lulus. The style worked well with for all of them and it ended up looking really nice in photos and real-life. I did pay for the dresses since I still thought $120 would be steep for them to pay for something they’ll never wear again.

Have you tried Azazie? They have a 10 dollar try on program as well!

My girls are all choosing their own dresses, just gotta keep to a specific color and material. One has bought her dress, it was about 40 dollars on clearance. Another is looking at dresses in the 75 - 130 range.

I did put together a google sheet with links to potential dresses in the color/material I wanted. The cheapest dress on there is 30 dollars, the most expensive about 350.

I talked to the bridesmaids first to find out what they were comfortable spending on the whole ensemble (well, dress and shoes because I am buying the jewelry as a bridesmaid gift) and they said $200. So because I had my heart set on sequin dresses, I let them pick a dress on Revelry.com in whatever style they wanted so long as it was the sequins, which are all $185. Since that is already so close to the $200, they get to wear whatever shoes they want, preferably ones they already own to save them some money Smiley smile
