Hello , I was just wondering what is a reasonable price for a wedding dress ? Or what’s the average price ? I don’t want to go over the top ... hoping some of you feel comfortable telling me how much your dress cost thank you.

My father was kind enough to pay for my dress. For my dress, veil, and belt he paid $2900.

Mine was about 1,500 and I haven’t started alterations yet, so I’m not sure what that will cost.

My dress was 2k and then $400 in alterations. My alterations included taking the shoulders up, taking the sleeves in, taking the waist in, hemming, sewing in cups, and adding a bustle.

I would get an idea of what you are comfortable spending on a dress. Have a max budget and tell them that up front so that they don't put you into any dresses outside of your price range. That is what I did and that way I didn't have to worry about the price of the dress after I fell in love with it - I knew it was somewhere in my range.

My dress was $1200 and after taxes and some extra fabric that we got for customizing the dress, it came out to about $1400. I haven't done alterations/customization yet so I'm not sure on that.

Mine was gifted and was around $550 (on sale). No alterations are needed and I'll add a wrist strap for the train. I didn't like the bustle options I saw online for my dress and several family members are really good at sewing. I might add a couple eye hooks to hold the train up so I can easily drop it when needed for photos.

Mine was $125 on Ebay and $ 60 for alterations - repair an area by the zipper and put a bustle hooks on for the sweep train that I want bustled for dancing. The designer is Shail K and I believe it may have been a pageant dress. I saw many dresses on ebay and did alot of digging online. I checked my measurements and then checked manufacturers measurements to make sure things could fit. I went to 2 bridal shops locally but none of the higher end ones as it was not in my budget.

When I saw this one, my heart skipped a beat. I Smiley heart it! Saw the seamstress this week and shocked her with the price for it. She kept commenting on the quality fabric and workmanship. Lace, embroidery, crystals all over. It is perfect Smiley smile

I purchased my dress off Amazon and it cost $95. I took in the straps, switched out the cups, and added a hook to the top of the zipper to tighten the dress. Alterations added an addition $80.

I think it's really what you feel comfortable spending on your dress. I personally couldn't stomach spending more than $300 overall on a dress because I wanted the money to go to hosting my guests at the wedding. But if you've got a larger budget or your dream wedding dress is more important to you, go bigger!

Mine was on sale for around $600-$700 and I'm paying $50 for alterations (all I needed was to have the under layers steamed and a tiny bit taken in in the back of my neck). I didn't have a budget but did not want to be spending more than what I ended up spending so it worked out great.

About 450 and about 300 for alterations! I got a bustle, hem, straps and sides taken in. I'm borrowing the veil, and my shoes were $40 and as you'd expect from shoes that price, I'll get a lot of use out of them after the wedding as well.

It's helpful seeing how much everyone paid for alterations.
