How much to tip?

Kelsey, on September 14, 2019 at 1:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3
Hi all! 7 days to go here!
I’m working on how much to tip each vendor for the wedding. I keep reading conflicting information, and I’m totally lost! Here’s what I have (we will have about 50 guests if that makes a difference).

Bartender: we bought the alcohol (wine and beer only), they will serve it. Fee for the entire evening is $150. Is $20-30 enough?

Security: Off duty police officer - required by the venue because we’re serving alcohol. $120 fee. Tip necessary? How much?

I think I’ve got everyone else figured out.
I’m also planning to give each vendor a handwritten thank you note.

Your tip for the bartender sounds good. As for the off-duty police officer, I'm not even sure if they're allowed to accept tips. If they are, I would definitely still tip about $20 or so!
