How much to tip photo booth asst

Natalie, on September 9, 2016 at 2:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

The woman that owns/operates the photo booth I'm having at the wedding is bringing an assistant with her.

She sent me a text this morning that said "don't forget a cash tip for my booth assistant"

I asked how much she suggests & she goes "just whatever"

How much do I tip the assistant???

I'm planning on tipping my caterer, bartenders, etc. But I'm not sure if this vendor gets a large tip like the others or if they just get $50/$75?

I can't believe she said that. Tips are optional. Yes i think you should tip him but you should never tell someone to tip.

    We tipped ours $50.

That was very rude of her. Tips are optional. I would have probably tipped $50 but she is rude.

I used to work with a photo booth company. I was the only person at events (not assistant to the owner, but didn't own it) and almost never got tips. Last weekend (my last event) I got a $100 tip and thought it was outrageous. When I have gotten tipped, it was usually $30- $40

Wow she's ballsy isn't she? I would say $50 but she shouldn't have sent that text

Tips are always appreciated if you were happy with the service, but it is certainly not expected! I don't think that was right of her at all to tell you to tip her assistant. I would say that we receive a tip about 50% of the time and when we do its anywhere from $50-$150. You should never feel guilted into tipping.
