I don't know what the normal is.. I tip based on my experience, what all I had done and how my hair came out when I get mine done.

Normally the going rate is 15% - 20%

Do you know about how much the stylist is charging? Flat rate for both? That could make a difference too.

As a hairstylist/Estheticain honestly... depends how good of a job they do. typically, around where I am, $10 is average for something like that... ususally the bride gives a bigger tip ( I find) because your supposed to spend a lot more time on them, make sure every little tiny hair is perfectly in place, not that I wouldnt do that otherwise, but you gotta make sure she feels that way you know? Judge it by they're experience, how good of a job they do, and how well they listen, if the stylist doesnt listen to what everyone wants... forget her

They are charging about 1300 for me, my 4 bridesmaids, our moms and my grandma to get get hair and make up done- they will also be traveling to my home to get us ready. I just don't want to under tip them. I had a trial run with them and loved it.

20% if everything is perfect, 15% if their late rude or whatever, and 10% if they totally blow it.

I agree with the 20%, 15% scenarios. However, depending on your location a flat tip would be OK as opposed to a percentage. If someone is really giving you a great deal, a percentage would work. If someone is already expensive, you can give them a flat tip.
