How much to pay pastor

My officiant is a personal friend and used to be my pastor before she moved four years ago. She will be driving a couple of hours to marry us and we're paying for her hotel room. How much should we give her on top of that? We live in California if that helps.

Calculate travel expenses (gas, hotel, food), add $200-$500 (what would it cost to hire a local officiant?) that is what you should pay her. Our pastor doesn't take payments, but we are still giving her this amount and telling her she can donate anything beyond expenses to the church if she doesn't feel able to accept it for herself. Also planning on getting a nice non monetary gift.
