How much to pay officiant?

We have a friend officiating our wedding and I know that he is not expecting payment, but we most definitely want to do so to thank him for all of his help. I’m worried about lowballing it and offending him though, even though he doesn’t expect it. Any suggestions or just info about how much you paid your officiants??

We have a friend/FH's co-worker officiating ours and FH is making a nice wood box and getting nice whiskey and cigars to put in it. We'll probably do $100 or so too.

Mine absolutely refuses money and just wants to eat, so we are making room for he and his wife to eat, drink, and be merry.

Our's was also a dear friend. We gave him a very nice bottle of expensive liquor he favored.
