How much time between dress appointments?

Caitlin, on March 13, 2017 at 2:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I am the MOH in my friend's wedding. She wants to go to a few places to try on wedding dresses in one day when she, her mom, and I can go all together. I was curious how far apart she should schedule her appointments. How long have your dress appointments taken? I know it's not the same for everyone, but I just wanted to get an idea. We will be looking at only wedding dresses. I haven't even started looking for my own dress yet, so I have no idea! This will also help me when my time comes! Thanks!

I had 90 minute appointments and scheduled them half an hour apart (it was only a 15 min drive).

However I definitely felt this was pushing it. I loved my last dress at the first store and felt rushed to the next appointment.

How many places does she want to check out in one day? What's the distance between them?

Appointments are typically between 60 and 90 minutes. Contact the stores for exact times.

Trying on dresses is more tiring than you'd think. I did two within 30 minutes of each other (actually got out of the first appointment a little early because it kind of sucked), and that was a little hectic.

Honestly, I'd only recommend doing two in one day with maybe a lunch or brunch in between. Three is a stretch, and four would be nuts.

I had two in one day and had about an hour in between. We stopped to get coffee with the little extra time we had and ended up pushing it to make it in time to my second appointment. All of my appointments were quoted as an hour but ran longer. I think the shops leave a 30 minute buffer between appointments.

I wouldn't recommend more than two stores in one day, three at the absolute most. By the end of my second appointment, I had decision fatigue and things started to blur together.

I had a 120 minute appointment in the AM left an hour and a half for lunch and travel to the next appointment that was 90 minutes. It was no where near enough time. If you are having lunch leave 2.5 hours if the appointment is close or leave an hour if no lunch. The first appointment takes a lot longer if you do not know what kind of style you are looking for.

It's also helpful to schedule them during off peak days.
