How much time before final headcount?

Jolie, on April 4, 2019 at 12:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

How much time are you giving yourself or did you give yourself between when you request invites back from guests til your final headcount is due? Is 1 week enough?

My headcount is due October 1st and was thinking of requesting them back either the 20th or 21st of September (one week and a couple days). Wanting to send them out August 1 which gives them 7 weeks.

I gave myself 2 weeks but I don't think I'll need it. I only have about 3 to reach out to and I still have a week before the deadline. But I'll be glad to have it done so I can make my final payments and officially be ready.

My head count is due May 29 2020 and our wedding is June 6 2020. I am making RSVPs due May 1 2020. I figured some stragglers would be up to a week late and then that gives me 2 weeks to get a hold of people who did not RSVP.

Our venue requires our headcount two weeks before so we’re doing our rsvps to be in a month early, two weeks for us to contact stragglers and fix everything up to then give them our headcount. We’re also planning on giving the venue our seating chart on the date of final headcount

We gave ourselves two weeks. It took us a couple of hours to follow up and get answers from the few who didn't respond. A week and a couple of days is plenty of time for you. I think your timeline for invitations is spot on.

We need to tell the venue this week (April 6th). So we gave March 11th as our RSVP date so we would have time to chase.

I gave myself about 2 weeks, which worked out perfectly— not having to start following up right away gave the straggling RSVPs time to trickle in. ON my rsvp date I was missing about 25 cards. I let it be for a full week, and within that time I had heard back from every single guest except one...so when I had to buckle down to follow up, or was a super easy task! Your timeline looks to easily allow for aa slightly earlier rsvp date. For simplicity’s sake. I made my rsvp date exactly a month before my wedding date (so 2 weeks before my 14 day headcount deadline)

So give them 6 weeks to respond and leave myself with 2 weeks? Makes sense. I am sure people send them like a day or two before the due date so could take awhile for mail. BUT my tactic that our friends did and I enjoyed it cuz it reminded me, is to announce on fb one week before the rsvps are due. Yeah they got some people who said tfti (thanks for the invite) but idc haha I would find it humorous. Not every acquaintance makes the cut Smiley tongue I'll think about it!

I’m giving myself two weeks before my head count is due. Partly bc im traveling and have to organize some things and partly bc the hotel blocks deadline is then so ppl need to know if they coming by then.

I would give it 2 weeks, just to be safe.

RSVPs are due back 1 week before my numbers are due. We have 100 people invited, so I don’t think it’ll take me more than a week to get in touch with anyone who didn’t respond.

That's how I feel. Plus with mentioning that they're due 1 week before I really don't forsee needing two weeks. I think it's unnecessary when really it's a simple text or fb message that occurs.
