How much should I pay my piano player?

My friend is going to play the piano at our wedding. He is very talented and I know that he will take the time to make the music perfect for me. When I asked him to play the piano during the ceremony, he got all teary eyed and said it would be an honor for him. I told him that I would pay him, but he said that it was not necessary. I still want to because I know that he will put a lot of time into practicing and such. How much should I pay him? I was thinking maybe $100? Too little or too much? If he refuses cash, I will get a gift card with the same amount to somewhere he likes so he can't turn it down. TIA Smiley smile

    He is going to do some soft music as the guest come in about 15 minutes or so before the ceremony, then he will play when everyone walks down, then at the end when everyone is walking out. It may not seem like a lot, however I know that practice is involved and I want to make sure I pay him for all of his hard work.

    Thats what some people gave my FS when he helped play Drums for a church anniversary, he felt bad reciving it but he appreciated it because of the practices he had to go. I think thats good, give what your heart desires you know =)

    I am paying my organist $100 to play at my ceremony! So I would say somewwhere in that range would be good! Smiley smile
