How much of your wedding Diy?

Just wondering how much or how little certain DIY (or all!) aspects of your wedding are? Like we bought gorgeous gold lanterns and LED candles but plan on adorning the base with flowers. Also planning on using garland to decor some long tables on the venue.

It doesn’t necessarily need the garland wrapped around but you can try it! I’m doing that because some tables will be long tables and some round tables so for the round tables I want the lanterns wrapped so they don’t look plain

Thank you! The chalkboard & easels prices are honestly all over the place. I looked online & at craft stores & IMO Hobby Lobby is the best. Every other week they have 1/2 off. The medium size easels were the most @ $35 per each. The small chalkboards were the cheapest @ $3.50 (on sale). IMO Hobby Lobby have the sturdiest table easels for the cheapest price ($6.99) and that’s the gold metal one, with the 40% coupon it’s $4.20 & I need 7 of them. I got the best deal on the large chalkboard that was only $20 & it’s heavy. It will need a floor easel but the venue has floor easels so I don’t need to worry about that.

I wasn’t in love w/ the flower garland, so I picked up a different one today @ AC Moore - it was a bit more than I wanted to spend @ $21 per each, but they are beautiful.

Invitations, decorations, food, bouquets, boutonnieres. An aunt is going to make the cake as our gift.

Most of my wedding will be DIY-ed including my backdrop for the ceremony. I have plans to use a globe & sketchbook for my guestbook and vintage books for my centerpiece. There’s so much more detail to them but I plan on doing a lot to keep my budget in check.

All your easels and chalkboards with your decal already look great. I can see the vision. I’ll definitely be looking out for some at Hobby Lobby. Thanks!

Wow Destieta I am eager to see your decorations and ideas as ya you go! I love the idea of vintage books 📚 and a globe.

We actually didn't need to DIY much because our venue will already be decorated for the holidays (our date is 12-7-2019).

We've DIY-ed our centerpieces, sweetheart table decor, small signage, and FB/RB items all for less than $250.

Thank you. Smiley laugh My mom gave them to us yearsss ago and I just never used them for anything. They were the kraft paper letters you get at Michaels, so all they needed was a quick paint job.

Gold is so classy. Gold is one of your wedding colors right? Gold and red?

It’s one of our accent colors- we’re mostly using reds and greens.

We painted our jars, which will use to hold flowers, other will be used as candles holders/floating candles. We also made our our pew decor. We also are using wine glasses upside down (white roses instead of red ones).

I love your pew decor! Is that tulle? I need to think of pew/church decor as well as they’re very picky on what I can and can’t have: no runners, no flower petals, nothing on the pews can be hung in a manner that will damage the pew or interfere with people

Yes it is!!! I’m going to wrap them around the pews, then cut to the length I need. Tie it with white pipping. The flowers will be tired with wire and ribbon. I’ll then added it to the white tulle.
