How much of song before walking

Christina , on May 31, 2019 at 6:08 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
Hello!
How much of your walking down the aisle song are you letting play before starting to walk?? I’m walking to Turning Page by Sleeping at Last with the lyrics. So I want to get to some of the words of the song in and build the suspense a little lol. I’m thinking about 18 seconds which kind of feels like an eternity lol

I don't think that 18 seconds is too long. It's probably 10-15 seconds into my song before I begin to walk, but I haven't checked the timing yet. Maybe you could let a few seconds play before the officiant says "please rise for the bride," that way everyone isn't standing there for 20 seconds wondering if you got cold feet lol.

I’m extremely familiar with this song due to my love of Twilight! Lmao. I’m kinda hoping that’s why you are as well. 😜 Twilight aside, that is a beautiful song and perfect to walk down the aisle to. I think 18 seconds in will work just fine. The song starts getting really pretty around that time, so I think it will be nice. Just don’t walk too fast, so that you get some of the lyrics in there for sure.

I'm probably waiting closer to 30 seconds. I need a few to work up my nerves.

I actually timed how long it would take me to walk down the aisle and maybe I was consciously doing it slow but it was a good amount of time for me to know so that it matches the lyrics of my song as best I can. mine came to around 30-40 seconds actually.

I think 18 seconds is fine. It's your day so build all the suspense you want!
I actually picked the same song to walk to because A Thousand Years is pretty overused...and yep, I found it listening to the Twilight soundtrack! Haha

That’s what I was worried about!!! People thinking I ran or something! 🤣🤣 When I go to the venue in a few weeks, I’ll see how long it’ll take me to even get down the aisle!

Yup, I love Twilight!! 😂 I feel like the 18 second mark is a good time for them to open the doors and me walk down. I think slow walk + distance should be good to get some lyrics in and then the DJ can fade out the rest of the song

I’m using A Thousand Years for the bridesmaids/groomsmen to walk down to! I agree is used very much now. Turning Page is so much prettier in my opinion 😊
