How much is too much?

Soon, on June 23, 2019 at 7:11 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
I am having a buffet style 12pm reception atleast 3 indian dishes and 3 American dishes. And 80 guests. My thought process is making sure everyone can get atleast 2 maybe 3 full plates (I am not about to buy food for thanksgiving dinner) And I am giving each table 2 bottles of champagne (My wedding is Wednesday morning I am not going to be the cause of drunk driving.) Am I being to strict how much do people eat or drink at weddings?

P.S I am giving out little bottle of shots as wedding favors. I think I'm being pretty generous.

    That sounds like plenty already.
I had ten family style courses for everyone at their tables and two bottles of alcohol at every table and trust me... People definitely don't eat all that ahah.

I think anticipating everyone getting about 2.5 plates (depending on the size of plate you’re thinking- standard dinner plates?) should be plenty, and six different dishes gives a good variety. You’ll have people who eat less than you expect and people who eat more, so theoretically it’ll even out.

Hey Soon! I think the amount that you described sounds like the perfect amount. As the pp’s mentioned, some guests will eat more than expected but some will eat less so you have a good balance.

I’ve never seen anyone at a wedding go up to the buffet for a second plate and definitely not a third. I think that’s more than enough.
