How much is too much for a garter?

DRBride, on July 2, 2013 at 1:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

Hi Girls,

So I wanted to know what's the average price you girls are spending on garter sets? I fell in love with one for about $30 which is probably a great price but since I'm not too huge on garters (except the one I found), wanted to know what you girls were spending.

I know some people will put them in a shadow box with their dress or other wedding related items. If I was doing that I'd spend money on a nicer looking one that will match.

My husband loves the Pittsburgh Steelers so I found one for $10 and we put it around a football for him to throw to his guys. I'm not even sure what happened to it at the end of the night so for me $10 was fine, I probably wouldn't spend more than that. I think it all depends on what you intend on doing with it!

I found one on etsy for $25.99 plus shipping. I wont pay more than that especially since FH wants it to be a camo garter ( I voted for Denver Broncos)

I sell garters anywhere from $10 to as much as $70! Lol. They come in all different price ranges. Some come in a set of 2, one for keepsake, one to throw. If you found one you like, go for it!

I do like the sets because one you keep and one you throw.

They sell garters here at Pat Catans where I live for 1.00. I guess I'm spoiled to find them that cheap

I spend 4$ on both garders in Downtown LA. I didnt care about it so I decided to just get a basic one. I dont regret it at all! Spending so much on small things can really add up!

I spent about $35 on a set from Etsy because it was themed for the college I met my FH at...wanted to bring that in at some point but wasn't going to theme my whole wedding around it, I thought the garter was perfect. It is also excellent quality and I did not want to attempt to make it myself.

Here's the one I'm in love with. I like it simple b/c of the lace and the little blue rhinestone. But mostly b/c it's lace and i like the vintage feel!

We are spending 32 for these two including shipping. Our theme is peacock I love the brooch. We are planning on putting our wedding items in a shadow box after the wedding.

I bought mine from someone who makes them on eBay, and spent around $25. I think if it's in the budget, and you really want it, go for it.

Psh. I'm making my own. Smiley winking No idea how much the materials will cost, but I'm thinking BLING, so it's likelier to cost more than a few dollars. I'm keeping mine, though; we aren't doing a toss. I just feel like it would be bad luck or an illegitimate wedding without a garter. xD
