How much for ring resize?

Mika, on August 25, 2012 at 9:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

He brought the ering online, so no free resizing. How much did you pay for enlargement?

How has your luck been with walmart resizing? My sister had hers done there and she's had the sizing pop out three times.

My jeweler does it for $80 for platinum ring. There is nothing that will pop out because he actually manipulates the metal to the correct size

I would go to a couple of jewelers and ask for quotes. Particularly if you have independent stores nearby.

I paid $40 to get mine sized. The price depended on how many millimeters the band was. The thicker the band the more expensive it will be. Also if you are sizing down it will typically be cheaper than to go up a size because you have to add gold to the ring.

I didn't know that you had to pay for that? Weird.

We went to Shane Co and they do it for free. Not sure what the charge if you didn't buy your rings there

I paid $35 for a place in the mall to make it a half-size smaller and the prongs pulled loose and one of my diamonds fell out (my FH and his eagle eyes found it-thank goodness!)

Large dealers like Kay (etc) may not take them because they're only experienced in sizing their own designs, or they might charge you extra.

Definitely look around and try to find places with reviews so they don't mess up your setting- talk about a nightmare that I went through! FH bought it at a store in NYC and we didn't want to travel back there to get it resized, but after that fiasco we did...

I was quoted a minimum of $50 for white gold solitaire ring. It depends on the settings and ring design.

As it turned out, one of FH's coworkers also runs a little jewelry shop and did it at a deal for us. We paid $30 and it looks great Smiley smile
