    Based on save-on-crafts prices...

    similar hanging candleholder is 2.99 each

    vases are 5 to 10 each

    10 mega long burning tealights are 10 for 9.99

    branches $5 to $20, depending on which type you get

    then theres the cost of florals "if you get real or fake"

    plus tax, labor costs, and possible delivery charges.

    Thought I'd bring my post here (from your other thread)

    ~~~~
    Keep in mind that flowers cost differently depending on your location in the country. Orchids cost considerably less in CA than they do where I live purely due to shipping. Another expense is LABOR.
    With that said, the florals look like roses, carnations, and hydrangea (best guess from the small image). I'd assume the smaller flower pieces would be $50 each, at least.
    Add the branches and lanterns -- I'd price it at $150-$175 complete.
    If you DIY, like PP said. If you have a florist do it, a small fortune. Our daughter's wedding was 2 weeks ago and I ordered the orange roses from Costco and the greenery from ferntrust.com. Total cost (7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen, 2 ushers, 1 reader, 2 moms, 1 grandma, 1 female reader, 1 organist/soloist, and 24 centerpieces) = $313. We bought the vases from Crate & Barrel outlet store (CB2) with a $50 gift certificate for like $12.
    I arranged the flowers myself. Costco and Sam's Club also offers packages where the flowers are already arranged for you.
    I went to a florist in Chicago looking for 4 white orchids for the moms/reader. I was told $75 EACH. I went to another one and they were $12 for all 4.
    Be prepared for sticker shock. The first florist I called said her MINIMUM for a wedding was $6,000. As my DD said, Mom, they're going to be dead in 2 days.
    Look at Dollar General for the vases.
    Great... try the florist at PWP at the fox hollow.. my center pieces are tall hanging votives and submerged orchids with the led light in the water.
    Now that I've ticked off every florist in the US, I would like to say that both my husband and I are laid off and we had to choose where to and where not to spend $ on the wedding.
    Diane, where are you from? perhaps a simple centerpiece with just candles will be elegant enough
    @Diane, I don't think you need to apologize for wanting to conserve expenses for your wedding!
    For me (as a floral vendor), the bigger insult comes from a public unaware at what _value_ they are buying. A $3 rose at Walmart/Costco isn't the same as a $6 rose from a reputable floral supplier. The problem comes from a public that doesn't understand the difference and attempts to claim florists are con artists. =)
    Doyca L, the wedding was 2 weeks ago and I did the whole thing for $313 plus vases. Everyone said the wedding was beautiful. It was a lot of work on my part, but you do what you have to do. I was up until 2:00 AM putting everything together (I worked in a florist "back in the day").
    We live in Tampa, but DD was married in Chicago if that helps.
    Alison, I do realize that florists have to account in their overall prices for unsold flowers that die and overhead. You have to make a living too! I was shocked 3 out of the 6 florists I called didn't even bother to return my call when I was just trying to make an appointment and the one who had an attitude - her MINIMUM was $6,000, with her average wedding being $8,000 to $10,000. It must be nice to be able to afford that!
    @Diane
    I agree that many florists have PR issues. That's a major reason I decided to cut the cord and freelance. A lot of brick and mortar florists are consumed with daily work (hospitals, birthdays, babies, etc) and many cannot seem to differentiate their client's individual needs. It's no wonder -- especially when you have an appointment and are greeted with a huge book of cookie cutter designs. Shame.
