How much confetti?

Lindsey, on August 20, 2017 at 10:33 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

Hey there everyone! I am planning on having confetti for guests to throw as we make our way back down the aisle. How much confetti should I have? My first thought was to have one cone for every guest (140people). But then I was thinking that the guests on the ends, furthest away from the aisle probably won't be able to reach anyway to throw?? So I guess my question is, should I have enough for everyone, or for the majority closest to the aisle? Would you be offended if you were a guest and there wasn't enough confetti for you to throw? ThanksSmiley smile

Have enough for everyone. Every person will probably want to participate. You can't say "hey, you get to have some fun and throw confetti, but you don't get to have any fun". And please have someone to clean it up/purchase eco-friendly options!

I would check with your venue to see if this is allowed. Most places don't allow it - it's a mess to clean up if indoors, and it's awful for the environment if outdoors.

I feel like this could result in guests getting covered in confetti, and I wouldn't want to have to pick it out of my hair as a guest let alone a bride

Yeah, thata what my first thought was. I would be kinda bummed if i went and didnt get to throw any.

The wedding is at my parents house, and we are just using those craft pom poms. We will just scoop them all up the next morning at brunchSmiley smile

Check with your venue. I have this in my contract:

NOTE: Birdseed, rice, confetti, flower petals, balloons, glitter, fog machines, pyrotechnics, sparklers and blowing bubbles are not permitted inside or outside the facility.

I think we are doing flower petal confetti - no messy clean up necessary ... though the petals in the hair thing does have me concerned. I would just put out a box of confetti cones and people who want them can take them and people who don't can pass

I personally don't like confetti but if you do it make sure it's enough. Bubbles look better for pictures though
