How much are you spending on bridesmaid gifts per?

Michelle, on June 21, 2020 at 10:41 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15
I’m not sure the etiquette but I was thinking of gifts all the ladies have in common they would all enjoy. So far I have a personalized jewelry travel case, silk robes, and gel manicures. My sister and my cousin both own a salon so I get discounts, they’re also both in my bridal party so I would think of another beauty service outside of nails.

Anyway, this would total to about $70-80 per person. Should I include pedicures as well? That would total between $100-120 per person.

Also, if it makes any difference I have six girls. So that would be anywhere from $350-$600

I spent about $50 each on gifts, an extra $50 gift for my moh as a thank you for bachelorette, paid for hair and makeup if they wanted it, and paid for lodging since they were traveling.

I think you are right on. I literally looked this topic up this week, the average cost is anywhere between $75-$120 per bridesmaid.

I’ve been told nails and robes aren’t considered gifts since it’s kind of for my wedding. I wouldn’t think nails aren’t a gift if it pampering them?

Are you having everyone get the same color so they all match? Or can everyone decide what they want to get? If you’re gifting manicures do they all look the same it’s not really a gift for them, it’s a prop for your wedding.

First of all, it's good to have a budget in mind. I personally don't think a gift has to be a specific amount. I think a meaningful gift is more important than how much it costs. You could pay for their hair and makeup.

I just posted some gifts I'm giving mine! I also have six, and I'm already noticing how pricey it's getting!

So far I've gotten them earrings to wear on the day-of, painted champagne flutes, and lavender face masks.

Closer to the event, I'm thinking of treating everyone to facials. I'm also kind of nervous about the thought of paying to have everyone's hair done, haha.

I spent around $100 per bridesmaid on the physical gifts (silk pajama set + piece of jewelry). I only had 4 bridesmaids so this was very doable. I paid for their hair and makeup as well, but did not consider part of this the gift since it was clearly for the wedding

Mine will be pretty high, tbh. But I won't have a huge bridal party.

Keep in mind, also, that anything for the wedding itself doesn't count as a gift. So their hair/makeup, jewelry you're getting for them to wear, pj sets or robes for pictures - those aren't gifts because they're things for your day. A gift is something they'll enjoy 100% separate from your day. (This is the etiquette view of it - just sharing for an fyi!)

Overall, gifts and wedding-related things, my spending on each BM will be: proposal boxes, shirts for the bach party, lodging for two nights before the wedding, all meals from Friday night through Sunday night at the wedding, mani/pedis, and thank you gifts.

I plan to spend about $50 per person. I have 6 bridesmaids. 2 are my sisters, so I’m getting them an additional gift each because I want to. I’m also going to pay for everyone’s makeup. I think $50-100 is reasonable, depending on your budget and number of bridesmaids. Of course, if you want to splurge I’m sure your girls would love it!

I would still consider nails a gift. And I’m not spending that much on my ladies. I love them, but that’s just not in my budget. I have also heard people say that jewelry isn’t considered a gift, but that’s the main gift I’ve ever received as a bridesmaid. Now the second one did give me a tote bag, tumbler, and some other things that I don’t remember and thus also didn’t really care for. As a bridesmaid I would groan at receiving anything that said bridesmaid, just as I’m also avoiding anything that says bride or future mrs. it’s such a temporary title and I would feel it was useless after the wedding.

I like your gift ideas and if your budget allows yes I would include pedicures.

I'm doing robes, key chains, hand written personal cards, flask, tumblers, individual wine bottles, and make-up day of.
