Are you going to sew it yourself? You’ll need it to adhere to / hang from the PVC pole somehow so you’ll need to create a pocket or tabs or grommets for it. The above picture is probably a rod pocket or safety pinned. Personally, as a sewer I would say three yards for the length to be safe (since 7 feet = 2 1/3 yards) so that you can use 4-6 inches for the rod pocket and then have some pooling. Since the standard spoil of fabric is 54-60” wide you would want to get two to four of these. So 4 2/3 yards or 9 1/3 yards. At around $5 a yard that’s $23-$46.

It would probably be easier to purchase a premade curtain online that’s +90” long. As an example: https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/No.-918-Alison-Rod-Pocket-Lace-Window-Curtain-Panel/11686991/product.html?kwds=Lace%20curtain&refccid=2GDGLODMR5E2P6KF4RI2A3IMPQ&rfmt=length%3A84%20Inches~96%20Inches&searchidx=0

5 yards. 7’ one side, 7’ other side= 14 feet. Give yourself a little room for gather and hem. 5 yards=15’.

Have you priced our renting vs buying? It may be cheaper to rent. I’m not sure if RentMyWedding has this kind of style but they’re a top-rated vendor here.

Rule of thumb is 3 feet in a yard, so it would depend on draping and such to get the look that you want.

Thanks for the help ladies! I ended up getting two 5 yard pieces so that way I have enough to drape it over and have some pool on the ground for a nice ethereal look. Thank you!

Oh good! Post pictures when you’re done!
I’ll say DIYing it is much cheaper than renting - we’re renting one of these with a chandelier attached and it’s $700 Smiley surprise It was $300 without the chandelier.
