Thus far, none. Pretty much all our friends are married. But I think we're getting an invite to a celebration of marriage soon. Friends of ours eloped last summer, she told me celebration will be in April, and just asked for our address. I've never been to a celebration, I'm curious to see if it's more of a traditional wedding feel, or just a big party.

Just two, thankfully! My own, and then my buddy Gabriel is getting married about 3 weeks after mine. Which is awesome because we can rant and squee to each other about wedding stuff without driving anyone else nuts and bounce ideas off each other. Smiley heart

Two of our daughters are getting married this year (July and November). Those are the only two that I know of so far.

Only my own so far. My friends/family are also already married or are not ready to get engaged yet. I might go to a friend's next January, but not sure if we'll be invited or not yet.

2 definitely and 1 maybe. The two definite ones are family and the other is a coworker.

I went to a celebration in August last year and it felt more like a party. Less people danced and didn’t have as much fun but it was also cash bar and just had a different feel to it. They showed their wedding pictures on a slide show but I think they showed too many and made it an event where everyone had no choice but to watch it. I loved seeing the pictures but a lot of people were not interested after about two minutes. I hope your friend’s has a better feel to it!

I’m a bridesmaid this spring, then it’s ours in September followed by 4 more within a few weeks. I’m super excited for one of the 4 as the bride is very close to me. Another will be a lot of fun with friends, but they are FH’s friends and I don’t know them well. Another is a cousin of FH and I’m not sure why we’re invited.

We are going to be invited to at least 8 weddings.... 3 of which being in December 2018... and 2 of those 3 are out of town.... I already told FH that I am only going to 2/3 because I do not need that kind of stress in my life the month before we get married!

Possibly a co-workers wedding the week before mine. Then my wedding. Then probably FBIL wedding the weekend after mine.... It's going to be very, very stressful time of year.

Lol yea, I know these friends would rather die than have a cash bar or dry wedding, so I'm sure whatever it is, it will be very well-hosted!

I've only been to one "celebration of marriage" (about two years ago) - but it was awesome! They were just a more private couple so they had an intimate ceremony the weekend before then a reception celebration the next weekend. It was my husband's absolute favorite! As he said it was just "all the good stuff" - food, booze, music, and mingling. Smiley heart To me it felt less like a wedding but they also went more in the party direction (no white wedding dress or toasts or special dances).

I'll be interested to hear about your experience and how they planned their celebration!

I'll keep you posted! Their elopement was truly a surprise, only their parents knew in advance, and they announced it on facebook with a photo of them in Hawaii holding a sign saying "just Maui'd". It was super cute, and totally their style. Actually now thinking about her baby shower, she didn't have any games and didn't open gifts, so I'd guess they won't do any wedding formalities either.
