How many people can I bring dress shopping?

Deactivated, on March 29, 2017 at 5:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

I'm almost a year out and have started just thinking about dress shopping! I know for sure my mom is coming, and I also want to invite FMIL. I have 3 sisters (BMs) who want to come, and a MOH. I also have a BM who is best friends with me and my MOH and I'd hate to not invite. I would also love for my grandma to come. That's a lot of people and more than likely totally unrealistic! Who did ya'll have go dress shopping with you?

You can bring whoever, just know that the more people there, the more opinions. If you're someone who is easily swayed by other people's opinions I'd keep it to a smaller group. Just my 2 cents!

It depends on where you're going, really. I went to a sample sale here which was at a local store, and there was a line wrapped around the building and we waited for hours, so I only brought my MIL and MOH with me. It was easier given the situation. But if you're going to a shop with a lot of room, it may be easier to bring more people.

Check with the bridal salon as some limit the number of guests you can bring. I am definitely a fan of smaller groups, otherwise the opinions just become overwhelming.

It depends on where you're going on how many you *Can* bring, many boutiques have limits and the space really isn't that big. But I really enjoyed going by myself more than I enjoyed going with other people. That many people and their opinions are overwhelming. it is NOT like the show SYTTD

I went alone and I don't regret it one bit. I sent pictures to my mom and sister when I needed help deciding. Having more than two or three people come along just seems chaotic to me.

That's a lot of people!! Definitely call ahead to see if there is a restriction on the number of guests you can bring, and keep in mind that there's normally only a few chairs for people to sit in while the bride tries on dresses - so your group will be standing and trying to stay out of the way of other clients the whole time!

Thanks ladies! I'll definitely check with the salon and try to break down to at least 3 people at most.

I had three (technically five but I'm not counting my 6-year old niece or her BFF that is 4 as to them everything looked either flowery or shiny AKA no help but entertaining). Each person that came with me had a role. My Mom (the budget watcher), my sister (the one who knows me best and is brutally honest) and my sister's friend (a fashionista and former bridal consultant). Each one played their role quite well.

I think it depends on where you go. I got mine at DB and I brought 4 people.

I say the less the better. Whomever (whoever?) doesn't come can always go to a fitting. Besides you may not find your dress on the first day or in the first store.

Check with the salon- Some have restrictions.

I went once with my mom, and the second time with mom + 2 of my BM's.

I took 11 people. You know the people you're bringing. Be cautious of too many people with strong opinions but other than that whoever you want! One store recommended bringing only 2 but didn't mind when I showed up with 11

    Its ultimately up to you.

But if you go to Davids Bridal, just a heads up, your only guaranteed 2 chairs for your guests you bring with.

@shay h. Drinks, besides water, are not allowed (especially alcoholic ones) at Davids bridal. I'm a stylist there and its against company policy because they don't want to risk drinks getting spilled on the dresses

That's a lot of people! Like people said before, check for the salon's restrictions. You can also break it up and go to different stores on different days.

I went with just my mom on day 1 of dress shopping and brought my step-mom and MoH on day 2. I had found my "the one" dress on day 1, but I still wanted to try more on to be sure and have the shopping experience with them as well.
