How many hours for photobooth?

Audrey, on May 11, 2017 at 4:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi guys! I'm renting a photo/video booth for my wedding, and when I sent in the contract to the guy who runs it, I told him I wanted it for 4 hours, thinking that the length of my reception would be appropriate. However, now that I'm getting closer to having to pay for all this stuff (lol) I'm starting to see where I can potentially cut costs a little bit, and noticed that I would save $100 if I just had it for 3 hours. Do you think it would make sense not to have the photobooth running for the first hour of the reception, since people will most likely be eating/listening to long boring speeches (hopefully not!)/watching cake cutting/first dance? How long did you have a photobooth for, and did you think that was enough time?

Ours is only 3 hours. 7-10. Cocktail hour starts at 6:30, through dinner/ first dances then closes an hour before the reception ends.

If you do this then they will likely be setting up the photobooth during the first hour of your reception. I would find that to be distracting.

I looked at the contract and it said that they show up two hours early to set up, which if I had it at 7 would put them there at 5, while everyone is upstairs enjoying the cocktail hour. And actually, now that I'm thinking about it, if I have them start at 6, their 2 hour mark will be setting up when the ceremony starts! Eek! Clearly I will need to speak to them about this either way lol.

Best time to have Photo Booth is Cocktail Hour or After Dinner. During dinner is sort of a waste.

We are going with 4 hours. It was the best deal and I feel like we used the hell out of my future sister in laws.

I say have them do 1 hour during cocktail hour, then the rest of the 2 hours at the start of the reception. In between courses, guests will get up to use it.

I am having mine for 4 hours. One hour during cocktail hour, the rest during reception (my reception is 4 hours).
