How long was your engagement photo shoot?

Liz, on November 28, 2016 at 8:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

How long did you spend with your photographer taking engagement shots?

I just asked ours and she said about 1-1.5 hours.. we are paying $300 for the shoot. I know that editing takes a ton of extra time, but that still doesn't seem like a lot of time actually with us considering we are going to be driving to a few locations... am I just way over estimating how long this should take?

Ours was about an hour and a half, one location (no driving) but we went to several spots at that location. We also changed outfits halfway through, which took up some time. We got tons of pictures back.

We spent $500 for 2 hours with an outfit change and 3 locations. I thought that didn't sound like a long time, but when you're taking pictures the photographer get a lot more photos than you think!

We just had our shoot yesterday; anxious to receive the pics! Our shoot was just under an hour at one location (but went to multiple spots in the location.) We scored a steal at $25 at a charity auction last month. She estimated around 50 edited top-quality photographs.

About an hour, we did a lot of different locations at a nearby forest preserve. We got 120 edited photos back a week later

Mine was crazy long, like 3+ hrs, I was so exhausted afterwards. I really think 1.5 would be sufficient. I got 250 pics back and while beautiful, I'm not sure what on earth anyone would do with that many engagement pics...

Ours was about an hour and a half. The cost of photos is mostly in the experience of your photographer and the time they spend editing.

Ours was $65 for 1 hour. Our photographer did showed about 40 pics and we picked 20 for fully edited and high resolution.

Ours was 1.5 hours in various spots in Downtown. Our photographer gave us 65 fully edited pictures. We didn't pay anything because it's part of our wedding package.

Ours was 2 hours. It was exhausting! My back started to hurt from all the posing. He had two outfit changes and I had three. We also brought his daughter for some pictures together. Got back 165 images in a gallery to choose from and picked 50 images for download. Paid $550, but they are beautiful!

My FH does photography on the side, and he took about 200 photos for a friend's wedding. It took him a full day to edit all of them. So if you factor in the two hours of shooting he did (she didn't want any reception pictures) and editing time, it came to about $20/hour. There's a lot that goes into taking a good photo (framing the shot, lighting, angles, editing) and you really pay for what you get. Our engagement shoot was built into our package, so I can't give you any advice about what we paid for it.

That sounds about right. I think ours was 1.5 hours or so and it was $300
