When we decided to get engaged it would be about 13 months but formal engagement (when he proposed) it's about 10 months. But one of my friends dated her SO for 2 years and had a 2 year engagement.

My goodness! Can’t imagine that much banger in half a year! I met my FH 5.5 years ago, and when we get married in May, we will have gone through a 20 month engagement.

We've been engaged 3 1/2 years, but have planned and booked our wedding in less than 2 months time.

It's been surprisingly very stress free. And the stress I have is reduced to one month instead of stretched out 6 months to a year.

Engaged 18 months, been together for 8 years. I also have a friend that was married within 6mo of meeting each other. They did a courthouse wedding in Vegas, so it was a more easy going.
