How long is too long to wait for a florist quote (during Covid)

Kimberly, on August 10, 2021 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi there - I know there was a similar discussion from 6 years ago, but with Covid-related wedding postponements and such, I was curious about an updated opinion here.

I spoke with a florist over the phone two months ago, and she had me follow up with an email detailing all desired flower specs and said she would start new wedding proposals the next week. After about a month of no response (my wedding is 12/2022 so I was in no rush), I followed up, and she responded that she received the request and again said she would get back to doing floral proposals the following week, citing the busy summer season. That was three weeks ago. Should I just give up and move on? It is understandable that this summer was probably even busier than usual with all the pushed up weddings that were postponed, but if I have to follow up a second time after two months I can't help but think it's a red flag.

Any thoughts help!

Thank you!

Honestly, I would move on. She may be busy and that’s perfectly acceptable, but then she should be communicating that she won’t be getting to late 2022 proposals until the fall.

Move on. Right now you still have a lot of time, but you don't want to be chasing after her a week before your wedding, and this behaviour is a red flag. I wouldn't even contact her right now, just when she finally delivers write her that you've decided to go with another florist who delivered their quote on time.

I would honestly move on. To me its not the fact that she hasn't gotten you the quote, more that you've had to take the initiative to also reach out to her about it multiple times. An email of "I'm sorry its busy season I will have your quote to you by XX date" goes a long way.
