How long does it take for the dress to arrive?

Happy, on December 22, 2015 at 8:11 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I am still looking for dresses but I'm leaning towards an Eve of Milady dress I tried on. My concern is the time it takes for the dress to arrive. I heard Eve of Milady gowns can take anywhere from 8-10 months and my wedding is 9 months away! The consultant at the salon assured me that the dress would get here in plenty of time for alterations etc... I'm still feeling concerned though. It would be a nightmare to not have the dress arrive on time! If anyone is familiar with Eve of Milady dresses, can you please share your personal experiences?

Hi almost date twin! I ordered an Eve of Milady dress from Kleinfeld last week and my consultant changed my wedding date on the paperwork to 8/15/16 so that it would come in by July. I am definitely a little nervous because I'm using a local seamstress for alterations instead of paying the out of control cost to get alterations done at Kleinfeld and I'm hoping 6 weeks is enough time for this person to alter the dress! The good news for me is that I'm a sample size, although they suggested ordering a size up to accommodate my largest measurement, so I'm hoping my alterations are not extensive. I know I will need the dress taken in around my bust and I may need a hem, but other than that, I'm not expecting anything extreme. My consultant didn't specifically mention that Eve of Milady dresses take longer to come in, but I'm not surprised since the detailing is so intricate. What style did you order? Mine is style 1553.

It all depends on what your ordering I would say. My bridal salon took almost 8 months to get me my Allure dress!

Well long story short I had to cancel my dress (it's a different designer than yours) and order it in another size last month and it won't be in until August so that's 9 months. It depends on the designer and bridal salon so they would be of more information.

Essence of Australia only took a little over 3. The salon had said 5. So, now the dress will hang in my closet for the next 8 months. Lol.

Wow, I see it varies a lot! Good idea to write an earlier date for the dress.

My dress was ordered last Saturday December 19 and it will arrive in May at the latest. Once it arrives I will take it home and then bring it back 2 months before the wedding for alterations. I'm getting married a day after you! The salon should know, especially if it's a reputable one. My salon is where they film "Say Yes to the Dress Canada".

Don't wait any longer to get your dress. Depending on the design/designer, it can truly take up to 10 months. Choose your dress with the quickness and get it ordered. And I love using an earlier date! Genius!
