How long does it take for a full traditional makeup application?

C + R, on March 25, 2014 at 11:17 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hi ladies!! I'm starting a rough draft of my day-of timeline so that I know when to schedule hair & makeup appointments. I'm just wondering how long, on average, a full traditional makeup application takes? I can't find any good info on the web, and I'll confirm with the salon once I decide for sure where I'm having everything done-- but I'm just trying to look ahead and get a preliminary idea of how the day is going to play out right now. Thanks in advance!! =)

I second that. Book an hour for make-up.

I also agree with the hour. I do makeup as well and I budget an hour and a half for each girl so that I have time to do the makeup and fix anything that may need to be fixed.

Good question, I was wondering the same thing. What about airbrush? How long does that take?

Airbrush is a little faster, but not by much. I only airbrush foundation and it cuts about ten minutes off the time. So not enough to be significant.

Thanks so much ladies!! I was originally going to plan for 30 minutes, but I was afraid that wouldn't be long enough-- thanks for the help!!

I'm having airbrush done and was told that they would have me done in an hour. Crossing my fingers that that's accurate.

An hour. My MUA/Hair Stylist said two hours, but I'm getting both hair and make-up.

Always allow more time than anticipated. You can certainly sit and relax if done earlier than expected, but you can't add on more time if you're running behind.
