How long does a civil ceremony last?

CoffeeNColor, on July 10, 2016 at 12:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

FH and I are going to have two ceremonies. The first is going to be a small ceremony with a judge where we'll be legally married. We'll then have a private Ketubah signing. The second ceremony will be the one all our guests see where we'll be religiously married by our rabbi.

For timeline purposes, how much time does the civil ceremony last?

It really depends. Our littlest ceremonies which are just legal signings, take about eight minutes.

Thanks!!! I figure when the time comes to actually book the judge, the his/her clerk will tell me exactly how much time to budget. I just wanted to get a rough sense for my preliminary timeline.
