How long do you need to plan a wedding?

Okay so pretty much FH and I decided we want to get married next summer, however he said he wants to do a flashy proposal with a ring and stuff. I'm about 99% positive he's going to wait to officially give me the ring in December because he's secretly (or not so secretly) trying to plan a small duo...

But if we want to get married in the spring/summer... how possible is that? What do I need to start doing now?

If you're super, SUPER sure it's happening and he's agreeable with the date, go ahead and research the big vendors (venue, caterer, photog, etc) and put down a deposit to secure your dates.

Honestly, you need to book a venue asap. We're in the same boat. He never proposed and I don't have my ring yet, but I know he plans to soon. We basically got my family on board, and started planning once we decided on a season. We're getting married June 9th next year and I have my venue and photographer booked. I also have my dress already. We're currently searching for catering.

My advice is to start planning now, and just go with it. You're engaged, with or without a ring. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
