How long do i wait for pictures?

Meagan, on June 11, 2019 at 7:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
I didn’t know what discussion group to choose for this, but it’s been over 10 weeks since my wedding, and my wedding photographer still hasn’t sent me my pictures or even given me a date she estimates they’ll be ready. She told me they would be done 6-8 weeks after the wedding. What should I say to her? I really want my pictures!

I would just say “It’s been 10 weeks since my wedding and I just wanted to see if you’d have an estimate for when I’ll receive them?”

Yeah, unfortunately I’ve tried asking that and she either doesn’t respond or gives me generic responses like that she’s “working on it.”

I think you should shoot her an email and ask. If your contract says 6-8 weeks I think is fair to ask after 2 weeks pass. You can simple as for an ETA.

That is not ok. I know wedding editing picture take a long time but she should at least be able to give you an estimate time or an apology for being 2 weeks late.

I’ve already done that, and she either doesn’t respond or doesn’t give me a straight answer with a date.

Was this stipulated in the contract?
If so, don’t be afraid to demand what you guys agreed on. You’ve been super patient.

Make sure she gives you a date. And when that date comes and still nothing then take further necessary actions. I know two people that have gotten married and have not received their photos and it’s been over a year. The photographer constantly posts photos on social media but they have not received any actual photos. We pay good money not to have photos back. My photos were back in 5 weeks. Photo album, prints and all photos on a usb. Good luck, sorry about this.

Oh gosh, I'd be anxious too!
Just shoot her a note and ask when to expect the first of the pictures that she is sending.
Hopefully, she's hard at work making them perfect for you.
    Hang in there ❤

3 -4 months is not uncommon. But there is no excuse for her not giving a better, definite estimate, considering she is past her original promised date.

If the contract said 6-8 weeks then she’s already breaking the contract. We got everything within 2 weeks from both our video/photo teams (ceremony & reception were in different cities).

Send her an email saying you’re following up regarding your photos/video and that it’s 2 weeks past the allotted time as per your contract. If she doesn’t reply in 48 hours, call. She got her payment on time I bet, so you have every right to ask for your stuff!
