How long did it take you to find a venue

I spent months researching literally every venue I could find here in NJ. About a year after getting engaged, we looked at 3 places. It was pretty easy for us to choose because we were 100% against having a traditional ballroom wedding and we wanted something in a hotel/very close to one for convenience. We ended up booking the first place we toured about a month after we saw it. My fiance was set on it, so I just agreed because my dream venue is a castle in Italy and that wasn't happening lol

We got engaged at the end of September & found our venue in the beginning of November. Our venue that we chose was our third option.

I searched online for venues for a day or 2 about two weeks after our engagement. I had scheduled tours at 2 different venues and looked at one on a Saturday and the other on a Sunday and we had our venue booked on Sunday evening.

We both already had a vision so it wasn't hard for us to narrow down/choose.

We booked our venue about a month after getting engaged, maybe even less than that. However, we booked so quickly because our ideal date was less than a year away from the time we got engaged. We did probably 3 months worth of research, phone calls, visits, etc. in that time frame so I wouldn't get too disheartened yet!! We looked at 4 venues before picking the one we did. I guess I didn't really get a huge feeling like it was "the one". That feeling has come as we have started doing all the small details and I can finally start to envision the day.

It took us 4 months. We toured 5 venues, but looked at venues online so total probably 50 venues!

We got engaged in July 2017 and put the deposit on our venue in Nov 2017 for a Sept 2019 Wedding! We only looked at 3 places but the place we ended up choosing we went back to 3 times to ensure it was the perfect location and would fit the amount of people we would be inviting! Now every time I think about the location I get butterflies and am so excited to marry my best friend there in 157 days!

We booked our venue the day after we got engaged but researched about 50-60 venues before we got engaged. Our venue was the only one we toured because we loved it so much in person! Since we're getting married in February, we needed something completely indoors. It was really hard to find an indoors venue at a reasonable price that could hold around 175 people. We live in Tennessee, and most venues around here are barns or mansions where the ceremony takes place outside. We're, actually, getting married in Alabama. The venue is 1 1/2 hours away but 10 minutes from FH's hometown. My family/friends will just have to travel 2 1/2 hours from my hometown.

Each couple is different, we’ve been engaged since October and I’m still looking around for the perfect venue that speaks out to us. There have been many venues I’ve found great interest in and in the end it was a disappointment! Don’t worry!

We're trying to book everything a year and a half in advance, and we have the same issue! Our date is mostly taken. I'm glad it worked out for you. My fiance is already tired of me talking wedding all the time, so hopefully we can find a venue soon so things will chill out! haha

I reached out to 2 venues.. the one I was really interested in contacted first. We went for a tour 5 days later and booked on the spot! We both loved it, and the price couldn’t be beat.
