How long did it take for you to get your wedding video?

Serina, on November 1, 2013 at 8:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

We are starting to get very frustrated with our videographer. It's been over 4 months since the wedding and we still haven't gotten our wedding video. We were promised on the contract that it would take 8-10 weeks but when we contacted him after this time, we were told that he was very busy and that it would take a few more weeks. Several emails and phone calls later we still haven't received anything. The further frustrating thing is that he takes so long to reply to emails. Is this normal? How long did it take before you got your wedding video?

Finally we got our wedding video highlight and he has been responding now. Hopefully we will get our full edit video on DVD soon. We hired AG Cinematography. We only had one contact email and phone number which is the same info on his wedding website as wedding wire. I guess the wait was worth it. I think if you are a vendor though, clear communication with your clients is very important. I didn't mind so much that it took a lot longer to get the video than was promised on the contract it was the lack of response that drove me crazy and left us wondering if they had just taken off with our money and that we would be left without a wedding video.

We used GT Modern creations in October 2012. Contract stated 1-5 months but we were prepared to wait a little longer since they were so popular. To this day -- 15 months later -- I STILL have not received my video and have not received an update. Starting to lose hope I will ever get it.

Wait, so if your contract says 8-10 weeks and it's now been this long, legally... What can you do?
