How late is too late to have engagement photos taken?

Jennfier, on December 8, 2017 at 5:22 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17

We got engaged in late October and it is now December and freezing out! We prefer country outdoor photos but it is so cold out now. The photographer I like the most locally is on maternity leave until March. Is having engagement photos taken in the early spring too late? Wedding is in September 2018. And can we send engagement photos out with our wedding/reception invites?

I got engaged July 8, 2016. We're getting married May 19, 2018. We are taking our engagement photos in January. I don't know why it's an issue as long as your relationship status still reads "engaged".

We got engaged in August 2016 and married this past March. Took engagement photos 2 weeks before the wedding because that is what worked for our schedules with school. I just wanted non-wedding pictures to put up in our home, so it worked well for us.

I don't see why it would be too late. We got engaged a year ago and we'll have our engagement photos taken this winter

Its never too late as long as your still engaged. Also depends on what you would like to use the photos for (wedding website, invites, save the dates etc). We got engaged in Jun 17, took photos in October 17.

I got a wedding invitation last year that had the couples engagement photos incorporated on the invitation and it was gorgeous! You could maybe do something like that if you're looking for a use for them. We got engaged in September and just got ours taken last weekend.

I don't think it matters when as long as you are engaged when you do it and not married. We got engaged in Feburay this year, probably won't take the pictures until May of 2018....maybe later.

Never too late (unless you're planning on using them as STD). We got engaged in January and didn't have time to get our pictures done until late October. We're getting married in January.

Our wedding is the day before yours, and we were engaged in August. I agree that I don't want our engagement photos until its a bit warmer out so likely springtime. Your timeline sounds fine.

We were engaged for 6 months before we did engagement photos. We just did them in October. As long as you aren't married yet, its not too late to do engagement photos.

Our photographer actually recommended spring since we are having a fall wedding. We got engaged in October and aren't even planning on booking our engagement shoot until February. Sometimes it feels late but most times I'm excited that our best professional pictures will be so contrasting.

I think it's whenever works for you and photographer. We were engaged in May 2017, wedding is Sept 2018, and we sent out STDs in October. We won't be sending another card with E pics as they will be taken in late February. They are mostly for us, but will likely have one of the pics at the wedding for guestbook type stuff. No rules on this, really.

You can really have them done whenever. We got engaged July 2016. We had engagement photos done early April. We just got married in November.

I got engaged in February. We did pictures in June and again in October. To be honest I kind of want a third round this spring but think I'll refrain.
