How is your groom standing out?

Courtney, on August 5, 2019 at 8:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23
When it comes to tuxes or suits, how is your guy going to stand out? We are going with the DB color Spa. FH wants to do black tuxes with black vests and spa ties for everyone.

I just don't know how to make him stand out. Two of his friends did bow ties for the groomsmen and the groom had a long tie, but I'm sorry I really don't like bow ties. My dress is ivory/blush. I'm going to try to convince him to get an ivory tie with black vest or ivory tie with ivory vest maybe I dont know..... another question though... when are we suppose to go in and order tuxes if wedding is in April?

My FH & his groomsmen are wearing blue suits with a pink patterned bow tie that coordinates with the bridesmaids' dresses. FH decided he wanted to wear a pink vest to standout. None of his groomsmen will be wearing a vest, though. I've heard that your groom/groomsmen should go about 2 months before the wedding to get fitted. The guys in our weddings bought suits from Macy's because it was cheaper to buy a suit, and they get to keep them!

We had all the guys wear gray tuxes with gray vests. The groomsmen all wore petal pink ties. He wore an ivory tie to match my dress. We also made his boutonniere bigger and with a cream rose rather than a light pink rose.

Forgot to answer your 2nd question. We did it in the end of March for a July wedding, but I wanted to just get it out of the way and crossed off the list. I think you can maybe do it like 2 months out.

My FH is doing a different color pocket square and possibly a different color bow tie, still going back and forth on that.

I had my groom only in a suit while the groomsmen were in suspenders and a dress suit. He also had a tie vs the groomsmen had bowties

We didn’t do anything different to have him stand out with his tux. The florist ended up making his boutonnière a little bit bigger than everyone else’s but that was it. And we rented tuxes online so I’m not sure of the timeline for a store.

FH is in a unique shade of grey and instead of a boutonnière he’s wearing a lapel pin he really wanted. He loves his look.

We're just doing a slightly larger boutonniere, but also considered adding a pocket square, or giving FH a same colored tie with a pattern instead of it just being solid colored. We ended up choosing to buy suits from Jos A Bank (cheaper than renting, and you can lock in a low price anytime they have a deal available). They recommended having the guys come in about 2 months before the wedding.

My fiance had a little larger/different boutineer and a different pattern tie (paisley) while the guys were in plain ones. He also had an antler lapel pin.

We also used Spa! Groomsmen and bridesmaids all matched in spa, and my husband just wore all black and white to match me! I feel like the bride and groom being in all black and white looks better in the couples photos... but that’s just my opinion!

Also I’d recommend going in February, or January at the earliest, for your April wedding. They really don’t need more than 8 weeks to order your tux once youve been measured. One of my husband’s groomsmen didn’t get measured until like 2.5 weeks before the wedding and his tux still arrived on time no problems 🤷🏻‍♀️

FH is wearing his dress blues or class A uniform. Of course he’s going to stand out because of his uniform. The guys are wearing black pants, black jacket with bow ties, black vest, with black patent shoes. We had the guys dress as close as possible to match our wedding colors, plus we’re getting married at 5 o’clock, so their a little more dressed up. I attached a picture of what his dress uniform looks like.

My husband wore a darker tie — they all wore straight blue ties but he wore a darker one and the other guys wore a lighter shade

All of the guys are wearing the same suit. Honestly I didn't want to run into the issue of MW messing up orders when there's different suits for 9 guys.

Instead my FH will be wearing a boutonniere version of my bouquet, while the groomsmen will have simpler ones.

My husband wore a navy suit and the groomsmen were in gray. They all wore blush ties and he wore a gray vest to tie-in with them.

Your wedding looks beautiful Gloria! I love how your husband stands out from the rest of the GMs. His jacket looks great!! Who's idea was it for him to wear something completely different? 😃
