How important is it to have menus detailing what the dinner is?

We decided to have a plated dinner instead of a buffet and the main course choices are beef or salmon. Should I have little menus printed? Back in 2004, when my brother got married, they had a huge, fancy wedding, but I don't remember menus. I just remember the wait staff coming by and asking beef...

We decided to have a plated dinner instead of a buffet and the main course choices are beef or salmon. Should I have little menus printed?

Back in 2004, when my brother got married, they had a huge, fancy wedding, but I don't remember menus. I just remember the wait staff coming by and asking beef or fish?

We are only having 30 guests though.
