How important is a bridal suite?

Megan, on May 24, 2018 at 12:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

During my venue search I've been having a hard time finding all-in one ceremony/reception venues that offer on-site bridal suites. I don't plan spending hours getting ready, but I'd like to put on my dress somewhere other than a golf course bathroom. My fiance and I are looking at venues that are central for the majority of folks coming, so it's about an hour drive for everyone from home. I don't want to get ready at my house and then drive an hour in my dress and get it all wrinkled before the ceremony. Is this a deal-breaker for a venue? What are the other options? I know I could get a hotel room, but I'm really trying to keep the budget down.

It wasn't at the top of my list. We are going to get ready at a hotel then head to our first look which is within walking distance of the ceremony. We booked our hotel rooms through a third party site and ended up with a pretty sweet deal.

I hadn't thought about doing a first look before getting to the venue! That's a good idea too. Thanks.

We personally got ready at a hotel beforehand. We stayed there the night before since we both had out bridal party stay in our respective suites. It worked out well for us cause there wasn't any place for us to get ready at our venue.

My venue has a bridal suite, but the venue manager told me it's small and has poor lighting for makeup, so we're getting ready at the hotel I booked for two nights and heading over to put on our dresses once the hair and makeup is done!

I like the idea of doing a first look before heading to the venue. See if you can find something that'll work with that!

My venue has a small bridal suite which has poor lighting and apparently gets really HOT. So, my bridesmaid joined together to get a huge house from AirBnB and we will be getting ready there. It's 9 miles from our venue.

It was really important to me, I have 9 bridesmaids and 3 moms that all need hair & makeup. So we are getting ready at the venue & having lunch there, but if you get ready somewhere else as long as they have a room to put your dress on and get those cute pictures I wouldn't worry!

It wasn't important for me. My future in-laws live very close to the venue, so my FH is getting ready in a motorhome at the venue and I'm getting ready at his parent's house. I won't be riding in a car in my dress for very long, so it'll be okay.

My venue does not have a bridal suite or anywhere to get ready on site. This is not a big deal to me as my MOH literally lives 5 minutes down the street. So I will be getting ready there and will then drive myself down to the venue.

Since I'm getting married then having the reception at a different location we don't need one. We only live 5 minuets from the church and 15 from both pur potential reception venues. I know 1 of the 2 offer a bridal suite so if we pick that venue myself and the girls will get ready there for better pictures.

It was not that important to me originally. But it was important to y FH that I had one. He wanted me to have somewhere to relax and unwind prior to the wedding. Somewhere that would make my ladies feel comfy and where they could secure any belongings during ceremony/ reception. Somewhere I can get dressed without any hassle... heck he sold me on it when I didn’t care. After I saw all of he benefits, we had to have a place that had a bridal suite. 3places we looked at had us getting dressed in the bathroom , and one place even had us behind a curtain where the actual ceremony was going to be held...

A curtain? Holy Toledo, no! Unfortunately no one lives less than 30 mins away from any of the venues we are looking at.
