Hey ladies. How far in advance should I schedule my first dress fitting? And what about tuxes? How far in advance should FH go find a tux?

I am getting married in September and I have my first appointment in May. That is what the lady suggested!

For your first formal fitting with the seemstress I wouldn't do it more then 2.5 months before the wedding, as the stress of it all can have your weight going up and down. I wouldn't have them actually alter your dress until that time as well. My first formal sit down with the company that is doing my alterations will be at the end of April first of May and the final meeting with them will be about 3 weeks before the wedding to make sure all is well as far as fit and if they need to adjust anything, and then I'll do the last try on and pick up my dress about a week to 3 days before the wedding.

As far as the tux goes I would pick the vendor and talk to them I know alot of them have different order time spans. FH and all GM in our wedding have to have the sizes in and orders placed by Late May to early June. (but I also think thats because it's really busy in the summer).

I'm getting married in May and they suggested 2 - 2.5 months before the wedding. My first fitting is the beginning of March. Good luck!
