How far in advance did you pay off your vendors?

We'd like to pay off our vendors as we get the money. For example, we've already paid of photographer, we could have our venue (which includes florals, catering & DJ) paid off within the next two months and our videographer in about 4 months. But ditching out so much money so far from the wedding makes me anxious. I read about vendors going out of business or becoming unreachable and it makes me anxious. Am I paranoid? When did you pay off your vendors?

We are paying the venue off completely after a few months of payments to get it halfway paid while we are doing the other vendor deposits. All other vendors are deposits and then full payment the day of (or week of). We absolutely hate doing monthly payments so we are paying off the one that requires it.

My fiancé and I used scholarship refund money for the most part to pay all of ours, so we finished paying off ours about 4 months prior to the wedding. My MoH was paying for hers until about a week before. I think that was the maximum amount of time that she had to pay it. A lot of vendors have contracts that offer payments plans and stuff
