How Far in Advance Can i Buy Dried Flowers?

Pang, on January 21, 2022 at 3:20 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3

Hello,

I am new to the forum and am planning my wedding from less than a year after getting engaged (Engaged Thanksgiving 2021, Wedding set for 9/24/22). I am thinking of getting dried arrangements for my wedding.

Is it too soon to order now? (One of the shops I have had my eye on is doing a 30% off sale).

I have room in my upstairs to store these in a dry environment and can limit sun exposure if needed through curtains et cetera. What is your experience with storing dried arrangements before/after your wedding?

How long did they last?

Thank you,

Pang

Congratulations! We have a similar engagement length. We got engaged in October and have our wedding date in July, God willing. 💗

Last summer I ordered Sola Wood Flowers (around July-ish) and dyed a bunch of them. I have flowers in vases around our home and they still look beautiful 6 months later. When I reached out to Sola last summer to ask how far in advance I should order them, they recommended a few months before to avoid any fading, but I honestly haven’t noticed any fading with the ones that I made last summer. I’m planning on ordering more soon (naked/un-dyed) just to have them here, and will probably wait to dye them over the summer when I’m off.

Thank you! Congratulations to you as well Smiley smile. I am mostly worried about crumbling, but have also heard the reverse that dried flowers aren't nearly as delicate as some people believe they are. Sola flowers I have thought about, but I am not really a "rose" person and they look more like roses to me. I'm sure your arrangements will turn out beautifully!

Thank you! They are delicate, yet sturdy at the same time, and they hold up well. They have other flowers besides roses, but not sure what your favorite type is. Either way, I suggest ordering some wood flowers from the site you’re interested in now, and trying it out. It’s a fun craft!
