How Far advance should you make your Wedding Dress Appointments?

Future Mrs.Randolph, on January 1, 2021 at 9:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Hello and Happy New Year,

Welp we are at 13 months now until our date (Can finally say I'm getting married next year Yay!!) So sometime in February or March, I was going to start trying on dresses but I'm wondering when I should make my appointments. Should I make them now or could I get away with making an appointment closer to my desired times?

When I made my appointments I had to make them a few weeks out. So if you have a date you have to go (someone coming from out of town, off work/school), and dates aren’t really flexible id go ahead and call to make them now.

I think making dress appointments now would be a good idea! The closer time gets, dress appointments may fill up (especially if stores are limiting the number of available appointments due to COVID).

You can make them now, especially if you wanna go on a Saturday. Honestly though, I made my appointments like 2 weeks before I wanted to go and that was fine.

Schedule it now since they probably take less appointments with COVID

I would make your appointments now. My original appointments were this past May but I had to reschedule to June. I ended up getting my dream dress at my 1st shop & am getting the first round of alterations in 3 weeks.

Thanks for the help everybody I'll start looking at appointment availability now and asking the people I want to come with what their schedules look like since there is an 80% chnace I'm going to be looking at dresses outside of my city.

I would start scheduling now and asking what their covid guidelines are. Many shops I was only allowed to bring 1-2 people (live in NY) and try on 5 dresses. This was also back in August but doesn’t hurt to ask how they’re currently operating.

Go now if you’d like! It may be to your benefit if you want to go to more than one place and/or take time to think about what you’ve tried on before committing to a dress, since they can take several months to come in if you order one.

I made mine a couple months out but the place that I bought my dress from didn't start requiring appointments until after covid restrictions. It all depends on the bridal shop.

Definitely make them now. As stated, they book up quick. I also would make 2 in a day and make a fun thing of it.

I figured I would rather have the appointment and cancel if I found my dress elsewhere than not be able to get one.

Now, now, now. Some dresses take 6-9 months to come in (maybe longer these days), and you want to leave about 2-3 months for alterations.
